How do whitening treatments work?
Most teeth whitening products include carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide, which break down the darker molecules located in the enamel or dentin, resulting in whiter teeth. Lumist contains a specifically engineered carbamide peroxide that goes to work on your toughest stains.
What results can I expect?
Given that the natural color of everyone’s teeth varies, we shouldn’t all expect to get bright white teeth. You should also know that the whitening product only works on the teeth’s natural enamel and not on composite fillings or crowns.
You might need to get another type of treatment to harmonize the color of your smile. The effect of a whitening product can last from one to six months, according to your lifestyle habits.
Why choose whitening strips?
Whitening strips are the most recommended over-the-counter whitening treatments by dentists. Easy to apply, they are especially efficient when the teeth are straight (a crooked tooth might be difficult to cover). In comparison, treatments that require brushes, mouthwashes and toothpaste contain an insufficient amount of peroxide and their exposure time is too short to provide visible effects.
Are there any side effects to using whitening strips?
There are no risks to using at-home teeth whitening treatments if you follow the product’s directions. However, they can irritate your gums and increase the teeth’s sensitivity to hot or cold. Two out of three users will experience these side effects, however in general, the side effects only last a few days.
Do you have sensitive teeth? Don’t worry! Lumist whitening strips contain a much gentler formula. That way, you’ll get a visibly whiter smile without pain or discomfort.
How do I use Lumist Whitening Strips?
All you need to do is apply the whitening strip on your teeth by firmly pressing on it so that the strip covers the entire surface of the tooth.
Leave in place for 1-2 hours, repeat the process over a period of 5 days, according to your teeth’s color and what results you want.
Go about your daily routine with Lumist Advanced Whitening strips. You can drink, excercise, work and yes even talk.
Are there any contraindications?
Teeth whitening products should not be used by women who are pregnant, women who are nursing, children under 12 and in cases of gum or mouth disease. Smokers should not use teeth whitening products either because the carbamide peroxide interacts with the nicotine which can increase the cigarette’s carcinogenic effect.
